TAKING A DRIVE IN THE RESERVE

Today we needed to go into the Reserve to pump water at Migudu camp site.

My sister and I decided to sit on the roof of the Land Rover on the way to the Reserve and boy was that fun! We got very sun burnt because we did not put on suntan lotion the temperature in the sun was 49.9 degrees so it was quite hot! We still had fun and will definitely do it again!  We did not see much but that was because it was the heat of the day and all the animals were lying down in the shade, we saw a herd of Kudu,  a troop of vervet monkeys and two squirrels!

OUR BIG BOY MORAN

Moran our male lion got very sick and could not breath propaly or move his hind legs so we got a vet out from SA to see if he could find out what was wrong, he was treated for pneumonia with antibiotics, but because he did not recover and passed away at 11o'clock this morning. The vet did an autopsy on him and found that he had pneumonia, but because of the very badly damaged lungs, he told us that he had it for some time and probbly even from a baby cub. Unfortunatly no matter how hard we tried he still would not have made it, because of the internal bleeding. We are all very sad that our BIG BOY has gone and we hope that he rests in peace!  I will never forget him and will never stop missing him!  Amayi has been calling him since this morning but I think she knows what is going on!
WE LOVE YOU MORAN
YOU WIL ALWAYS BE OUR BIG BOY!!
